Staff, attendance & payroll
From the fingerprint at the gate to the payslip on the phone
Staff punch in on the school’s attendance device, the month is checked and locked, and payroll is worked out from it by the school’s own rules — then reviewed, approved and paid. Teachers see their leave and payslips on their phones.

Attendance from the device, never from a phone
Staff punch in and out on the school’s biometric attendance devices, which Akshara reads by itself. Shifts carry their grace time, and the working week its half days. Nobody punches in for themselves from a phone — a missed punch is asked for, or added by the office.
- Biometric devices read automatically (ZKTeco, push and pull)
- Shifts with grace time; working weeks with half days
- A missed punch asked for by the staff member, or recorded by the office

A month checked, then locked for payroll
At the end of the month the office reviews each person’s days, corrects what needs correcting, approves overtime at the school’s own rates, and locks the month. Payroll then reads attendance that can no longer move under it.

Leave asked and approved on the phone
Leave types, balances and carry-forward are set by the school, and opening balances let a school start mid-year. Staff ask for leave from their phone and see what they have left; approvers say yes or no from theirs.

Payroll by the school’s own rules
Payroll follows rules the school sets: what a day’s pay is, how joiners and leavers are paid for part of a month, how weekends and holidays count, and arrears when a raise is back-dated. Unpaid days come from the locked attendance. Tax slabs and deductions such as provident fund are entered by the school’s accountant for each financial year — never guessed by the software. Each run is reviewed, approved and paid.
- A day’s pay, joiners and leavers, weekends and holidays — by the school’s rules
- Unpaid days from attendance; arrears for back-dated raises
- Tax slabs and deductions for each financial year
- A check that basic pay stays a set share of earnings
- Review, approve and pay — every step recorded

Staff help themselves
Teachers and staff see their own attendance, leave and payslips — on the website or their phone — instead of queuing at the office to ask.
- Payslips on the phone
- Own attendance, and a missed punch asked for
- Own leave balance, and leave asked for
